So who else did a massive haul at Sephora for their VIB Rouge sale?! I finally bought some items that have been on my list for awhile and stocked up on some popular summer beauty trends. Here’s what I’ve loved this month!
Smashbox’s Be Legendary Liquid Lip in “Petal Metal” – So I’ve been seeing this everywhere on Youtube and Instagram so I obviously had to give it a try. The metallic lip is super in right now, and this one is a metallic rose gold (how trendy of smashbox). It goes on more like a gloss compared to an actual liquid lipstick. But it’s hydrating and the metallic color doesn’t crack – it fades evenly. I reapplied every couple of hours since it is more of a gloss. The color is gorgeous though, and I feel like the shade would be flattering on the majority of people who wear it. Tatcha’s Skincare Trial Set – This set included Tatcha’s cleansing oil, polished classic rice enzyme powder, silk moisturizing cream, and dewy skin mist. I loved the cleansing oil as my skin is super dry. I’ve had to stop using most cleansers as they just dry me out. This oil does not – and melts off any makeup. It contains antiaging green tea and red algae. Loved this product!
I followed the cleanser with the rice enzyme powder mixed with a little water. The powder turns to a foam, and its an extremely gentle exfoliation to remove dead skin and help soften and smooth out pores. After washing my face, I finished with the silk moisturizer, containing…silk! Additionally, it has pearl extract which helps support collagen production to reduce fine lines. This is a thicker moisturizer which I love. My skin is extremely sensitive, so the only negative with this cream would be the fragrance. It burned a little initially, then resolved after a minute. Overall, it did keep my skin hydrated and flake-free, which is difficult to do.
Lastly, this set contained Tatcha’s dewy skin mist, which can be used before or after makeup to set. What I love about this mist is how fine the spray is, it’s a super soft mist! It contains hyaluronic acid, red algae, and green tea for hydration. It contains 20% botanical oils for a dewy, fresh finish. Unfortunately this set is no longer available 🙁 But I linked each individual item below if one of them sounded intriguing to you 🙂
Anastasia’s Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette – I feel like this palette is almost as popular as the first Naked palette when it came out. I’ve been seeing this EVERYWHERE and for a good reason! It has some trendy magentas and burnt orange colors, as well as some gorgeous neutral shimmery shades. The pigment from this palette is amazing as well and easy to blend. Also comes with a brush. I can’t wait to try so many looks with this palette! It’s perfect for summer. Snatch one up here.
Piper Wai Natural Deodorant – I decided to try this product out as a few of my nursing coworkers love it. I’ve been wanting to switch over to a natural deodorant to stop using the ones with harmful aluminum. But I’ve been so reluctant because I really do need the clinical strength, and most natural deodorants aren’t powerful enough! This one actually holds up throughout the day! This deodorant is different in that you have to scoop the product out of the jar, then just rub the product in. It’s made with activated charcoal, so it absorbs 1000 times its weight in water, keeping you dry. The smell is light and fresh, kind of minty. I will definitely buy this product once I’m out. Disclaimer – (I received this product for free but all opinions are my own). Get it on Amazon below.
Dr. Jart+ Water Replenishment Mask – This mask is an Allure Best of Beauty Award winner and I totally see why! It’s full of hydration for dry skin. What’s different about this mask is that its customized to affect different areas of the face. It targets the undereye and cheek area, by applying acupressure to increase circulation to those areas causing tighter, plumper skin. It also contains collagen to firm the skin as well. It’s extremely hydrating, and all the reviews on Sephora are people raving about how this is the best mask they’ve tried. I agree! Pick it up at Sephora here.
That’s it for now guys! I hope you try out some of these summer beauty trends!

I can’t believe I waited until I was after 40 to begin trying face masks. I’ll put this one on my list!
